A weekend in Polzeath

Cornwall is a place full of fond childhood memories having spent many family holidays there. We used to go down to Polzeath in the summer, staying in a caravan park and spending endless days on the beautiful beach.

Last weekend was the first time in 10 years or so that we have all been together again, as I met with my brother and 3 sisters in Polzeath to celebrate 3 big birthdays in the family. It’s a beautiful Cornish seaside town, which is perfect for a luxurious weekend away!

A weekend in Polzeath

I arrived at my sister’s house on Thursday evening, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner of lobster and crab. This was followed by a lovely picnic at Baby Bay on Friday, a beautiful area just north of Polzeath Beach. We had great fun playing boules on the beach and eating yummy Kelly’s ice cream, a truly traditional Cornish treat!

A weekend in Polzeath

We took a bike ride in sunshine (and rain!) along The Camel Trail from Wadebridge to Padstow. It was a beautiful 5.5 mile ride through the beautiful Cornish countryside topped off with a delicious meal at Rick Stein’s restaurant in Padstow, which I would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a fantastic dining experience.

A weekend in Polzeath

I had a wonderful weekend catching up with family for some fun pre-birthday celebrations, creating some more wonderful memories!

Maybe next time I can take the whole ANNIE HAAK team with me for ice cream and a game of boules!
