Discover the new 1920s inspired style
It seems that the 1920s are making a comeback for Spring/Summer. The S/S12 catwalk shows revealed some fabulous 20s-inspired creations with a focus very much on Art Deco styling – lots of straight lines, low waists and fringing. This can only mean one thing for accessories: long luxurious sterling silver chains, pretty pearls and tassels galore!
A-listers such as Evan Rachel Wood and Camilla Belle were spotted sporting Gucci’s gorgeous black and gold Art Deco dresses at a film gala in LA recently. Also, style icon Florence of Florence and the Machine brought a bit of 1920s glam to UK screens when she wore a similar dress while performing on Later With Jools Holland just last month.
Here are some of our sterling silver jewellery suggestions so that you’ll look Art Deco divine this coming season:
Pearlescent jewellery from Annie Haak Designs
Keep your look pearlescent and purely 1920s with the Gili Sterling Silver and Pearl Ball necklace. This shell pearl ball, crafted from the shell a pearl grows in, is topped and tailed with gorgeous silver star detailing for that little extra glamour. It hangs on a 88 cm long sterling silver link chain so it will continue those long Art Deco-inspired lines and will team perfectly with a pair of Sterling Silver and Pearl Droplet Earrings. These simple yet striking sterling silver and pearl droplet earrings will give a perfectly elegant finishing touch to 1920s style curls and slicked back up-dos.
Tassel-tastic jewellery from Annie Haak Designs
Keep to the tassel trend with our fabulous Gili Luxury Sterling Silver Tassel Necklace, as seen in Marie Claire. Our gorgeous Gili Luxury Tassel Necklace features a beautifully handcrafted sterling silver tassel on a long and luxurious sterling silver link chain, weighing around 15.6 gms and also reaching approximately 88 cm in length. Why not wear your sterling silver necklace long with a pair of Sterling Silver Tassel Earrings for a truly tassel-tastic 1920s-inspired look?
You’ll look ready to do the Charleston all the way up the red carpet before you know it!
